Residential Water Heater Rebate

EPB Electric Power Customers can get a $50 credit on their electric bill when they purchase and install a new electric water heater.

Requirements to receive Rebates:

Must replace an existing water heater. It cannot be part of a new home construction.

It must have a capacity of at least 40 gallons and meet minimum Department of Energy requirements. (Note: if the water heater is bought at any reputable home supply or plumbing supply store, it will meet DOE requirements.)

Water Heater must be installed and operable within 60 days of purchase at the service designated on the customer's account.

Unit must be installed in the EPB service area and is subject to on-site validation by EPB.

What customer needs to do to receive rebate:

Complete Application ( Download Here ) within the 60 days of purchase. The applications can also be obtained at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware or most large plumbing supply companies in the Chattanooga Area.

Customers can also request one over-the-phone to be mailed to an address of their choosing.

The following must be attached to the application:

Proof of Purchase (receipt)

Manufacturers description of the Water Heater (to ensure it's electric)
